Antoine Dupont 💕 For those of you who don’t know who this is, you will in a months time, as his native France hosts the 2023 Rugby World Cup. It widely agreed that the French captain is the best Scrum Half (number 9) in the world and he is one of the favourites to lift the trophy in the Autumn.
But what makes him so good. Well like all good Halfbacks, he is always in the middle of the action, he controls the speed and direction of play and his skills are top drawer. He’s class.
He makes something I have been trying to do for years look easy, and at a significantly higher level…
It will come to no surprise to anyone who knows me, that I’m talking about Rugby. I love the sport and I’m still playing it at Ballymoney RFC into my 30s. Scrum Half is my favoured position. Making passes, barking orders and hiding behind my flankers! So when choosing a name for my new venture, I decided to stick to what a knew.
In the summer of 2023 I made the decision to set up Halfback Productions. It was time to put my years of experience with digital technology and a growing passion for film to use, providing services in videography and digital content creation. But why Halfback Productions?
Well think of Monsieur Dupont and the skills of a good Scrum Half or Fly Half (the Halfbacks), staying in control, involved in the action, hard working – these are characteristics I try to bring to my work as a Videographer and a Digital Content Creator. Trying to get the best results possible in every project or production.
My enjoyment for video work in particular was ignited back in 2019 when I created a match day highlights video for Ballymoney 1XV in their derby game with neighbours Coleraine. I loved being able to capture the intensity on the pitch as well as the emotions off it.
